How do I get my student account?

Get a student account in our account portal

 If you don´t have a swedish personal identity number / you are not a swedish citizen, you need to order a onetime code by contacting IT-support.

See dates here for when you can get your student account at the earliest.

I can´t log in with the student account?

It may take up to 6 hours before the account is done being created, so if you have recently gotten the account, try to log in later.

Here are some tips for what you can check if you have trouble logging in:

  • Get a new password. Log in with with your Universityadmission.se account, your edu-ID or a One-time code to get a new password.

  • Make sure you enter the correct username (ab223cd) and password, and that "Caps Lock" is not enabled on your keyboard.

  • Type the address https://lnu.se/student in your browser. Do not use a Favorite / Bookmarks.

  • Have you forgotten to register? If you have not registered within 90 days after you have gotten the account, then the account is disabled.  Make sure to get registered and try to log in again.

  • Clear your browser's cache and cookies. Learn how to clear your cache and cookies.

If you have tried all of the above but still are having problems logging in, please contacting IT-support.


I have problems getting my student account?

Here are some tips for what you can check if you are not able to create an account:

  • It might be too early.See more information on what date you can retrieve your account at the earliest.

  • You are attending a contract education and can therefore not log in with your Antagning.se account or order a one-time code. Contact your contact person for assistance with a one-time code.

  • You are not a Swedish citizen and can therefore not log in with your Antagning.se account or order a one-time codeContact IT-support to get a one-time code.

  • Do you have a correct social security number? If your social security number starts at 24XXXX-XXXX you have not yet received a temporary Swedish social security number. You can see your personal identity number when you log on to Universityadmissions.se.

  • Do you write your social security number in the correct format, YYYYMMDD-XXXX?

I can´t remember the password for my student account?

Get a new password. You log in with your Universityadmission.se account, your edu-ID or a one-time code to get a new password.

Order a one-time code. If you don´t have a swedish personal identity number you can order a One-time code by contacting IT-support.

How do I change the password?

I don´t have a swedish personal identity number?

If you don´t have a swedish personal identity number you can not log in using your account for Universityadmission.se or order a one time code at accountcheckout.lnu.se.

If you haven´t already gotten the email containing your temporarily personal idenity number and a One time code from IT Support, please contact IT-support and give us your name, email address (the one you used at Universityadmission.se) and your birth date so that we can send you the information you need to get your student account.

How do I order a one-time code?

Note! If you are not a swedish citizen you need to order a onetime code by sending a request by email to IT-support.

Order a one-time code. A one-time code will be sent by SMS, email or by post to your registered address according to the information registered on you in Universityadmission.se or in Ladok.

What is a One-time code?

If you do not have an Universityadmission.se account or don´t have an edu-ID you need a one-time code to login to get your student account, or to get a new password.

My one-time code does not work?

Order a new one-time code.  A one-time code will be sent by SMS, email or by post to your registered address according to the information registered on you in Universityadmission.se or in Ladok.

If you don´t have a swedish personal identity number you can order a One-time code by contacting IT-support.

I have a student account already, can I use that?

If your account is still working you can continue to use the account with the login information you already have.

Get a new password. You log in with your Universityadmission.se account, edu-ID or a one-time code to get a new password.

Order a one-time if you do not have an Universityadmission.se account.

If your account is no longer active you need to obtain your account information again.

What happens to my student account when I have completed my studies?

The student account is valid for 15 months after you have completed the studies.

Example: If the spring semester of 2020 is the last semester you are registered, the account is active until October 19 2021. If the fall semester 2020 is the last semester you are registered, the account is active until April 19, 2021.

Re-registration

If you do not complete your studies during the planned period of study, you need to be re-registered on the course. Once you have been re-registered your account will be extended for another 15 months. Contact your faculty for help with re-registration.

Before your account expires

About a month before your account expires, you will receive an email to your student email address that the account will be terminated and information on how to save information. 

If you resume the studies and the account has expired

If your account has been inactivated and you are enrolled in a course at Linnaeus University then you must get a new password for the account at accountcheckout.lnu.se.

Removal of student accounts

A student account that has been inactive for at least one year will be removed.
Removal of a student account means that email and personal file storage on the server will be deleted. A removal of a student account can not be undone.

Decision on inactivation from the Disciplinary Board

If a student account is disabled due to disciplinary action, it will be disabled three days after LNU Disciplinary has communicated its decision to the student concerned.

I have protected identity and can´t get my student account?

If you have a protected identity and have problems getting your student account, please contact Hampus Delborn at the Student Affairs Office. Be careful about giving out personal protected data in digital correspondence.

How do I, as an international student, get access to my student account so I can pay my tuition fee?

As a tuition fee-paying student you need to create an account to be able to order an invoice. All affected students will get an e-mail from the IT Office with information on how to get a student account.
